“My Best Decision”

I’ve always liked school, so college was always my plan. I knew I wanted Pitt State because of its closeness to home, and so many people I knew had went and loved it here. I also knew I wanted to go to college because my grandma never got the chance to, and she has constantly told me that was her biggest regret.

And after being here for four years, I can 100 percent say it was my best decision to come here. The school is very involved and on your side if you need anything. I will earn a bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in public health from Pitt State this December. After that, I will go on to a graduate program for occupational therapy.

Pitt State and its Exercise Science program has set me up for complete success in this field because of how much clinical work we do and how much connections we make in the process.

Pittsburg has always meant home to me. And I don’t just say that because it’s super close to my actual hometown. I say it because I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. Pittsburg is homey and just a great atmosphere for just about anything and anyone … whether it be going to school like me, or growing a business, or raising a family, and I think I speak for the majority of the people in Pitt when I say that.

I think I will miss the people the most. I can’t go anywhere without seeing a familiar, friendly face to talk to. I love the connection that the Pittsburg community has with everyone here, especially the students.
