“Our Next Visit”

Family is both roots and wings, it’s where you’ve been and where you’re going. Family is where you find comfort, happiness, and love; it’s home.

My brother and his family live in Montana. They come here for Thanksgiving, and we go there in the summer. I don’t have photos of me chasing my nephew at Easter finding eggs, I don’t have a photo of my kids taking him trick-or-treating in his costume, I don’t have selfies with him doing auntie stuff like taking him to the movies and getting ice cream during the week of any random month. I want as many easy candids with him as possible when we are together, and I think it’s equally important to capture formal family pictures too. I like the fanfare and significance of dressing up, making our mark and honoring the tradition of getting family photos taken.

These photos are the ones adorning my walls all year, that I can look at every day, and think about our next visit.
